RCA Expert Portfolio Reviews
This year, ClickerMe has collaborated with the RCA to provide expert reviews for a selection of the Class of 2020 Fashion Design graduates. In lieu of a traditional graduate show, online content has been crucial to support those students whose work was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Curated by Founder of MACHINE-A and ClickerMe board member Stavros Karelis and Zowie Broach, this project sees the work of seven graduates discussed and supported in short videos.

STAVROS KARELIS REVIEWS SAM JAMIESON
Stavros Karelis is the founder and buying director of Machine-A, London. In this video, Stavros reviews the work of RCA Class of 2020 graduate Sam Jamieson. Stavros cites phrases Sam uses such as ‘queer ideas’ and ‘new normal’ in a poem to express his designs. ‘Emotions are particularly important when I’m reviewing the work of graduates,’ Stavros says. Karen Binns is a stylist and creative director. Lara Johnson-Wheeler is a writer, editor and broadcaster. She is currently an editor at ClickerMe. In this video, Lara reviews the work of RCA Class of 2020 graduate Nacho Gamma. ‘Nacho appears unafraid to approach thorny subjects,’ she says, reviewing work that references blood, religious iconography and isolation. TIANWEI ZHANG REVIEWS TIANAN DING
Tianwei Zhang is London and China Market Editor at WWD. In this video, Tianwei reviews the work of RCA Class of 2020 graduate Tianan Ding. Tianan’s dissolving raincoat and luxurious linings appear to challenge impracticality in fashion. ‘She aims to achieve affordable coolness and advocate authentic wearers of streetwear,’ says Tianwei of Tianan’s work. ANNA TREVELYAN REVIEWS MEI SZE TSANG
Anna Trevelyan is a stylist. In this video, Anna reviews the work of RCA Class of 2020 graduate Mei Sze Tsang. ‘My favourite piece was the anti-friction jacket,’ says Anna. ORSOLA DE CASTRO REVIEWS DANIELLE ELSENER
Orsola De Castro is Founder / Creative Director of Fashion Revolution. In this video, Orsola reviews the work of RCA Class of 2020 graduate Danielle Elsener. Unpicking Danielle’s approach to zero waste cutting and creative sustainable solutions to design, Orsola expresses her excitement. ‘This is the first time that I’m seeing a student really looking to create a system and not just a collection,’ she says. ‘I think that this is the future.’
